Our Endorsements

At this site, we are familiar with all the players. We have chosen to endorse Josephine Villasenor. Here is why: A friend of mine, Josephine A Villaseñor has announced she is running for council against Dee Andrews for the Sixth District City Council Seat. Over the last few months I've witnessed Josiephine's commitment to her community through forming the Wrigley Community Neighborhood Group, her involvement in the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), Ready Long Beach as she held onto a kindness and respect for all residents, not just those who may vote for her. That's a very incomplete list of everything I respect about Josie's attitude and accomplishments. Since being involved with the community since April and having the privilege of supporting organizations that have brought amazing change to Central Long Beach, the MacArthur Park Neighborhood and Long Beach in general such as CERT, AOC7, WESCA and Litter Free Long Beach I have seen the good that can come out of a positive force, so without hesitation or the slightest reservation, I am endorsing Josephine.

Why this community association will not support Dee Andrews. On another note, having resided in district six for over ten years, I have been very disappointed with  the represented I have seen from City Council. The more I attend city functions, police functions and re visioning meetings for Long Beach's major corridors the more I realize how poorly represented Central Long Beach has been for many years. Central Long Beach receives less attention, funding and financial support than virtually any other part of Long Beach. Most of the redevelopment in Central Long Beach only began when Andrews began to seek a write-in candidacy. Things like Jenny Rivera Park, the Anaheim Re-visioning and several recent job fairs I doubt would have come to pass had you not had to write in Andrew's name to support him. For that reason, I won't any more. In most cases, emails I have sent to Andrews office asking for any support for my neighborhood have almost always gone unreturned.
